In Dutch, this is called Bouterkoek. It is one of my family's favorites.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup flower
1 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
3/4 cup sugar
1 cube butter or margarine
1 egg yolk (needed for the top)
1 t. almond extract
Mix all ingredients together (mix the dry ingredients first) by hand and press into a greased 10 inch cake or pie pan. Brush the top with 1 egg yolk and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
Bake at 300 degrees fahrenheit for thirty minutes.

OMG! I should have been born in Holland! This desert is AWESOME! Even my kids love it annd that's hard to do.
This recipe is Awesome. I replaced the almond extract with Vanilla extract and added the zest of a quarter orange. Tasted GREAT!
